Can MettleCI use a more recent version of Java than Java 8?

All MettleCI components require Java 8 and are not (for good reasons) compatible with Java 11. This doesn’t prevent you, however, from running multiple versions of Java on a MettleCI Agent Host. For example, a single host could have…

• MettleCI Workbench and Command Line using Java 8,

• DataStage tools using IBM’s customised JVM supplied with DataStage.

MettleCI tools will use the version of Java which is on the path at the time of execution, so the easiest approach is likely to be keeping Java 8 on the path but configuring the your build Agent to explicitly start using a path to Java 11.
