How does the integration/configuration with BitBucket, Jira, and Bamboo work?

Your DataStage client invokes a Web Browser which loads the MettleCI Workbench application.  This interacts with your DataStage Engine to perform Unit Testing and Compliance activities.

When you check-in to Git the MettleCI Workbench exports your DataStage asset(s) on the DataStage Engine and checks them in to Bitbucket which will then invoke a Bamboo plan to perform Continuous Integration testing and deployment activities.

Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Jira communicate with one another through Application Links which enable the Atlassian components to exchange information about your code and its lifecycle through MettleCI's automated build and deployment process.

The MettleCI Workbench also calls the Jira API directly when performing a live search of Jira issues on the Check-in dialog.  This is optional, and you can still enter Jira references on the Check-in page without this link being enabled.
