Which credentials do I use to log in to the MettleCI Workbench?

When users take actions in MettleCI’s developer-facing UI, the Workbench, those users authenticate using their existing Information Server credentials. MettleCI Workbench passes them to the customer’s DataStage authentication mechanism and therefore deliberately doesn’t store those credentials. In essence, MettleCI gives it’s users no more privileges than those they already have in their Information Server environment.

MettleCI operates with DataStage Jobs and associated filesystem files using the operating system and application service accounts that are specified in the technical prerequisites document. As such, its actions are subject to at least the same governance (including logging of its DataStage-based actions) as any other user In the customer’s DataStage environments. It also maintains its own logs of user actions for debugging purposes but these explicitly don’t capture any data entered via the UI, or captured using Unit Test Data Interception.
