IBM packages Java v1.7 with DataStage, and MettleCI workbench requires Java v1.8 for some of its more advanced functionality. We have also experienced some impediments in adopting IBM’s version fo of Java due to what appears to be some important differences between IBM’s JVM extensions not adhering to standards dictated by Java’s reference implementationand the Java’s standard reference implementation.
