What does the Workbench 'Integrated with DataStage Client' button do?

The Workbench Integrate with DataStage Client function creates a set of custom menu items under your DataStage Designer’s Tools → Custom menu item. These custom menu items permit direct access to MettleCI Workbench’s functions from within your Designer client, along with relevant context such as the Project and Job you’re currently working on. Clicking the Integrate with DataStage Client button will download a Windows installer which, when executed, will update your DataStage Designer client’s registry with relevant entries to introduce the new menus.

The registry entries that are updated are exclusively those under the following key:

"SOFTWARE\IBM\InformationServer\DataStage Client\{MenuGuid}\DataStage Client\Tools\Menu#*"

Note that this MettleCI registry key installer simply accelerates a process which can otherwise be achieve manually using the DataStage Designer’s Tools → Customize dialog:
